Welcome To The Miami Aikikai

2013, Our 35th Anniversary!

The Miami Aikikai is the oldest Aikido dojo in the Miami area.  The instructors are all certified to teach through the United States Aikido Federation (USAF) and Hombu dojo in Japan.   The Chief instructors are Eliot W. Rifkin and Gustavo Ramos, both holding the rank of 6th dan and each having practiced for over 35 years. They are grateful for the long time support and assistance of the other instructors, Ayal Joshua, 5th dan and Jesus Delgado, 4th dan.

We have recently moved into our new training location containing over 120 mats. This large space is ideal for daily practice. We also sponsor seminars throughout the year with visiting instructors.

The Miami Aikikai was founded in 1978 by Sensei Nelson Andujar, now 7th dan and a direct student of Yoshimitsu Yamada, 8th Dan, Shihan.  Andujar Sensei relocated to Texas in 1996 but remains in Miami in spirit.

We teach traditional aikido keeping in mind its martial applications as well as its philosophy of blending and harmony.

We welcome visitors to the Miami area to train with us, regardless of style or affiliation.
